The Seventh Concert

The Seventh Concert

Saturday September 30 2006 – Abbey Arts Centre, Abbotsford BC

The last stop of the tour. Lead guitarist Dan Hawes lived just up the road in Mission BC for many years, so this was an opportunity for him to reconnect with family, friends and acquaintances. The culture of this area isn’t conducive to developing fans of Pink Floyd music. However, the band was able to produce an excellent recording of their music during the concert and many of these audio tracks are used in their videos. The audience that did attend was very involved, loud and boisterous, and lifted the spirits of the band after a tiring week. Once again, a standing ovation at the conclusion of the performance. Another night at a hotel, then heading to the ferry in the morning for the trip back to the Island. After a successful first tour … home.

Another bright spot about this stop on the tour was the variety of photographs taken during the concert. Here is a small selection of the photographs that will give you a window into the individual performances given by each musician.

The audio for this video, Hey You, was recorded during this concert in Abbotsford. This is the last time this song was performed in concert. It is a very difficult song to sing, and was dropped from the set list for all subsequent concert tours. Dave Lyons is an excellent vocalist, but his range did not allow him to do this song justice. Having said that, it is worth your time listening to it!

Thanks for coming out! If you landed on this page first and want to start from the beginning, go to The First Concert and view them one-by-one. May the Floyd be with you!
