Monday February 12 2007 – Sid Williams Theatre, Courtenay, BC
Even though it was a Monday, the Theatre was packed wall to wall, front to back, with family, friends, fellow Valley musicians and members of the general public who had heard about this local band that was creating a stir in the British Columbia music world. This is the home base for all the band members and crew. Even though All In All It’s Just had performed here the previous June, those were early days. News of the bands’ stellar performances in other provincial cities and towns had spread throughout the Comox Valley, creating excitement and anticipation in place of the basic curiosity that had been present the previous year. The concert was emotional, exciting, entertaining and end-of-the-line; all encompassed in one performance. As always, storylines continued and new ones emerged from this concert, which will be outlined below.

As mentioned in our previous post describing the Powell River concert, the Patriarch and most ardent supporter of All In All It’s Just, Len Hawes (Dad) passed away on February 4th 2007. Five days after his memorial service the band performed this concert. Len’s wife Mary Hawes (Mom) was in the audience. This was the first time that she had ever seen her son Dan perform in concert on the big stage with hundreds of people cheering and applauding. It was emotional, poignant, sad, and at the same time exhilarating, exciting and fun. Arguably, it was the best concert performance ever given by All In All It’s Just. The ovations from the crowd came often, with a prolonged standing ovation at the conclusion.
This was also the last performance of the original band members. Sadly, two months after this concert, Michelle ‘Mishka’ Keir (backing vocals / percussion / acoustic guitar) and Rhonda Krabbe (backing vocals / saxophone) made the decision to leave All In All It’s Just. This was just 2 – 3 weeks before the band & crew set out on the already booked April 2007 mainland tour. Michelle and Rhonda were intrical parts of the band and a crisis ensued finding replacements for them on such short notice. Run Like Hell is one of the pivotal songs on the 1979 Pink Floyd masterpiece concept album The Wall. This video shows All In All It’s Just performing the song at this concert. It was the last tune played before the final bow and the last time that the original members of the band performed together. During the first 40 seconds of the video you will see random photographs and then the actual video will start. The videographer did the best they could with a small camera at the back of the hall. However, it does depict the band in full swing. The sound was recorded off the soundboard at this concert and synched with the video footage.Unfortunately, the band never returned to The Sid for a triple play. Lyrics are below the video.
