The Fourth Concert

The Fourth Concert

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 23 2006 – VERNON & DISTRICT PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE

The first concert on the first tour away from ‘home’. Home being Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It was a long days drive that started early in the morning, boarding the BC Ferries boat in Nanaimo, driving through Vancouver, going over the Coquihalla Highway to the Kelowna connector and onward to Vernon for the first overnight stay in a hotel. Everyone was tired, but excited.

Arrived at the theatre in the early afternoon and began the time-consuming, complicated setup. It is a big stage, so the band got to spread out. Several hours later the stage is set, the light show erected and the sound board hooked up. Sound check completed, everyone breaks for dinner. We’re ready.

The audience didn’t know what to expect from the band and the band didn’t know what to expect from the audience. A standing ovation was given at the end of the concert, so you could say that expectations were exceeded. This is roughly the sequence of Pink Floyd songs that were performed during this tour. The band would change things up now and again, however most of these songs were performed at every concert.
