Monday June 19 2006 – The Port Theatre, Nanaimo, British Columbia
We were quite excited about appearing at The Port Theatre. The audience here was accustomed to seeing acts that were more well known, and in some cases very famous. It was a Monday (not a big theatre-going day) and All In All It’s Just was totally unknown. Even with those factors in play, a good crowd turned up to hear the band. Perhaps the people of Nanaimo were just curious about this new group from up Island. We really weren’t thinking about it at the time as we rushed to get set up on a much bigger stage. One thing that we did notice throughout the day and evening – The Port Theatre people and organization were top-notch. They treated us with respect and went out of their way to help us get set up and ready to perform for the paying audience. It was a great experience.
The performance went off without a hitch. The photography definitely improved from the first concert, as you can see below.

The song Arnold Layne included in this post is the band’s version that was professionally recorded in a studio in Comox BC. The recording engineer was William Cooke. It was entered into the Arnold Layne Contest put on by David Gilmour & David Bowie in honour and memory of original Pink Floyd member Syd Barrett, who wrote this song, and who unfortunately passed away in 2006. We didn’t win the contest. The best we could hope for was that Mr. Gilmour listened to our version and thought it was a bit of all right. All In All It’s Just performed this song live at every concert and performance. It was Pink Floyd’s first effort to get onto the Top 40 radio charts, which wasn’t overly successful, but it is a fun song. Enjoy!

And now the band prepares to perform in front of their home crowd of family and friends in 5 days. This will be the big test.
